Colours of Dance is registered as a Rambert Grades Member School, with 5 member teachers, Miss Imogen, Miss Beth, Miss Brittanie, Miss Claire and Miss Eleanor.

The Rambert Grades are regulated by Ofqual, and are benchmarked to their Level 1 (Grades 1-3), Level 2 (Grades 4-5) and Level 3 (Grades 6-8).

The syllabus is made up of 3 parts (strands), which are Technical, Performance and Creative.  Exams are submitted digitally, and how the material is selected and presented is up to the teacher.   We will be ensuring that the way we develop, gather and curate this material is done in a way that is as inclusive as possible, whilst adhering to the exam process and regulations.  The exam process and material is created in such a way as to encourage individual teachers and students to present the work in their unique way, bringing their own magic and expression.  The examiners will approach the assessment in this manner.

Grades 1-3: 60 hours Guided Learning (Class time) plus 10 hours of self-led practice (this represents 6 terms/2 years of one class a week)

Grades 4-5: 75 hours Guided Learning (Class time) plus 15 hours of self-led practice (this represents 7 terms one class a week)

Grades 6-8: 90 hours Guided Learning (Class time) plus 40 hours of self-led practice (this represents 9 terms of one class a week)

As with all exams, assessments and development of each of our students, teachers will be responsible for helping students develop in the right way for them, and will assess readiness for examination in consultation with the Principal.  Students may only be entered for exam by their registered Rambert Grades teacher.
